Troubleshooting

If there is a problem that MyGreatLakes can help with or if you need help paying back your student debts, please call, email, or message the boss on their social media pages.

Great Lakes’ Facebook page has a one-hour response time, which makes it one of the best ways to get basic information. The company also has an information center with a payment planer that helps you figure out the best way to pay for your needs and answers some of the most common questions.

MyGreatLakes hasn’t had as many complaints with the CFPB as other credit companies. Our research showed that between March 2017 and March 2018, the boss only got 310 complaints, while Navient got 3,599 complaints.

The Better Business Bureau gave Great Lakes an A+ rating. But the supervisor has gotten three major complaints, and it’s clear that many people are having trouble with them. These are some of the most common problems people have with the MyGreatLakes portal:

Payment handling problems: Most of the reports that MyGreatLakes renter receives are about payment problems, such as incorrect payment division, incorrect notice of late payments, and other payment issues.

The CFPB says that all problems were correctly fixed in a fast manner. Even if you choose to have your payments made automatically, you need to keep an eye on your payments every month when you work with an agent.

Getting wrong information about loans: Another common gripe is that borrowers get wrong information about their loans, especially when they are trying to get them deferred or lowered. Again, it’s important to keep an eye on your requests and payments, especially if you want to stop payments. Please get in touch with your account administrator right away if you are having any problems with your account.
